I have ocular hypertension and attend the Opthalmology Clinic at Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow, where I have more recently been under the care of Mr Rahman. I find him to be very professional whilst also presenting a very human approach. During my last appointment, Mr Rahman assessed my right eye cataract, and subsequently undertook the cataract surgery to deal with this. His manner in conducting what for the patient is a fraught procedure, I found to be very reassuring. He arranged a follow-up appointment to confirm the surgery had been successful. I could not have had better care.

I was treated with kindness & understanding since I suffer from C.O.P.D. & wear an oxygen cannula. The staff were at pains to make sure I was comfortable before going into the operating theatre for my first cataract operation. Dr Rahman made sure I was happy, & understood what was going to happen before he began the procedure. The operation went smoothly & I went home with no pain or discomfort. The second operation was 13 weeks later & after ascertaining that I had no problems with the first, my right eye cataract was removed. Again, kindness & consideration from the staff & Dr Rahman operated with his usual care & attention. I was recalled 7 weeks later to review the procedures & was pronounced ‘signed off’. My eyes feel great & I am enjoying reading, sewing & any other activity that had become difficult previously.

I went to Dr Mamun Rahman for cataract surgery and I was very nervous about having an operation done on my eye. The doctor put me at ease and was very calm and understanding. From the initial consultation through to the post op care everything was explained well to me in terms I could understand. The whole process from start to finish was very well handled. The operation itself only took about twenty minutes though the recovery time is 4 weeks. My vision in the eye operated on has now vastly improved and really cannot recommend the doctor and his services highly enough.
